VHull Bio

Real Name: Kyle VandenHull

I grew up on a farm in the rural Midwest where hiphop is hardly even considered as a form of music by most. My creative writing teacher in high school once said, "All music is a form of poetry, except rap." I know that I've already proven him wrong.

As a straight "A" student, I sought after the "good life" out of high school and decided to go pre-med at the University of Iowa. After a few semesters, I realized that money meant very little to me and music was the one thing that truly made me happy. Instead of simply working on music as a hobby, I decided to make it my career. I moved to Los Angeles and went to school for audio engineering to learn the music industry from the inside-out. There I was able to collaborate with musicians and creative minds from around the world to truly help mold my own creative style as an artist and producer. I've been using the knowledge gained from my schooling to write, produce, record, edit, and mix my own music ever since.

I currently work as a professional DJ, which has greatly influenced how I produce my own tracks. I aim for my music to tell a story about a part of my life, from bad relationships to good times to personal views on life. I maintain a consistent theme in my life and my music to "Let It Ride". It's loosely based from the phrase most common in casinos, but with a lot more on the line than clay chips. There's only one chance in this life, and I want to make sure I have everything on the table when I roll seven's!
